Our Marrakech 5 day New Year Eve Tour starts in Marrakech on the 30th December when we meet you at your hotel or riad in the Old Medina.

Leave Marrakech to cross the Tizi-n-Tichka (the highest Atlas road pass) and travel along the Valley of One Thousand Kasbahs. Visit the Dades Valley, Todra Gorge and sleep in a desert inn on the dune line of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes at Merzouga.

Celebrate New Year under a star-filled African night sky and camel trek in Erb Chebbi to sleep under the stars in a traditional nomad tent with the option to spend a second night in your desert inn on the dunes.

Marrakech across the Atlas Mountains to Dades Gorge

8am transfer from Marrakech across the Tizi-n-Tichka High Atlas pass to Ouarzazate. Continue, from Ouarzazate, through Skoura palmerie and the valley of one thousand kasbahs to Dades Gorge. Leave the main route at Boumalne Dades and cross the oasis gorge with ruined hilltop kasbahs, valley floor gardens and magnificent rock formations. Overnight Hotel

The Valley of Dades to Merzouga and the Erg Chebbi dunes

Exploration of Merzouga; overnight Erg Chebbi camel trek

A relaxing morning followed by lunch or take the opportunity to explore this desert region e.g. season lakes, fossil beds, Merzouga village. Merzouga to Ouarzazate via Todra Gorge

Wake early to greet the new day and, if you are camel trekking in Erg Chebbi, join the camel caravan back to Merzouga; shower and breakfast. Transfer from Merzouga to Todra Gorge, one of the highest gorges in Morocco that is just 20m wide at the mouth. Lunch in Todra Gorge and continue to Ouarzazate. Overnight Hotel

Ouarzazate to Marrakech via Ait Benhaddou and Telouet

Transfer to Marrakech via Ait Benhaddou and the High Atlas Berber village of Telouet. Visit the World Heritage Site of Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, one of Morocco’s most spectacular ksour that once guarded the lucrative caravan route through the Atlas mountains, and the Berber village of Telouet with the abandoned Kasbah of the Pasha of the Glaoua. Lunch in Telouet and continue to Marrakech. End of Tour
