Terms & Conditions

1. At the time of booking, unless otherwise specified, a 25% deposit is required. This is, at our discretion, non-refundable but can be transferred towards the cost of an alternative tour within a 6-month period of the original dates if we receive 8 weeks’ notice of cancellation. The balance is due 4 weeks in advance of your tour and, should this payment fail to reach us by the specified date, we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled and retain the deposit. If a booking is made 6 weeks or less prior to the start date then the full amount is payable at the time of booking.

2. Cancellation by you should be notified to us by e-mail. The receipt date will determine the following cancellation charges expressed as a percentage of the total price: more than 8 weeks before departure 25% deposit; less than 8 weeks before departure 30%; less than 6 weeks before departure 40%; less than 4 weeks before departure 50%; less than 2 weeks before departure 80%; less than 1 week before departure 100%.

3. Once we have confirmed a booking in writing, amendments subsequently requested by you may incur a surcharge charge. Should you decide, whilst in Morocco, to deviate from the agreed itinerary all costs resulting from such an action are your responsibility and no refund will be offered for unused accommodation or services.

4. We reserve the right to change any of the prices, service or other particulars at any time before we confirm a booking.

5. Should we cancel a tour due to force majeure* you will be given the choice of taking the same holiday within a 6-month period or accepting a full refund.

*Force majeure is unusual and unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control, such as war or the threat of war, riots, terrorist activity, civil strife, industrial disputes, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, flood or adverse weather conditions.

6. Airport/hotel transfers included in the cost of a group holiday only apply to participants travelling on agreed flights. Participants arriving or departing on different flights are responsible for their own transfer costs and arrangements. Flight bookings are the client’s responsibility and Africa Overland Tours is not be responsible for any expenses, loss or other damage caused to you by the acts or omissions of an airline carrier.

7. You should communicate immediately any perceived failure in the performance of this contract in order to create the opportunity to achieve a satisfactory solution. Dissatisfaction with any hotel should be reported to the Hotel Manager so that immediate action can be taken to remedy the problem. Subsequently, your complaint should be made known to us in writing within 28 days of the completion of the tour.

8. Bookings are accepted by Africa Overland Tours on condition that Africa Overland Tours is not liable for any injury (including death), accidents, loss, damage or events beyond our control. It is a term of the contract between us that you obtain the appropriate travel insurance cover before setting out on your holiday. This insurance must cover the loss, expenses and damages arising from, including but not limited to, the cancellation of the holiday (whether in whole or in part), personal accident and injury, medical and repatriation costs, loss of baggage and personal money and belongings and flight cancellations and delays.

9. Clients must be in possession of a passport valid for 6 months beyond their intended stay and accept responsibility for obtaining the necessary visas, permits and certificates (including medical certificates).

10. Africa Overland Tours does not accept liability for any loss or additional expense caused by delay or interruption to travel services through weather conditions, civil disturbance, industrial action, strikes, wars, floods or sickness. Such losses or additional expenses are the responsibility of the client.

11. The tours and destination we offer require clients to be flexible and to allow for alternatives. For this reason the outline itinerary and holiday description must be taken as an indication of what may take place and not as a contractual obligation on the part of Africa Overland Tours.
